Northern Ireland The Centre for Intergenerational Practice (CIP) was established in April 2001. Its aims are to support the development of intergenerational practice throughout the UK and to promote an understanding of the potential of intergenerational practice to address social issues. The Centre is part of the Beth Johnson Foundation.

The Beth Johnson Foundation welcomes the chance to work in partnership in Northern Ireland to support the development of this innovative programme of intergenerational community engagement to strengthen relationships across the generations. Regional Grants Scheme As part of the 'Linking Generations in Northern Ireland' initiative and following the success of the Belfast and Ards Borough Council area intergenerational small grants schemes we are delighted to announce this regional grants scheme. The regional grants scheme will enable funding of £750 for 20 intergenerational projects across Northern Ireland. Linking Generations Funded by Atlantic Philanthropies and the Community Safety Unit of the Northern Ireland Office 'Linking Generations in Northern Ireland’ will promote and support the development of Intergenerational Practice (IP) across Northern Ireland.
Bridging the Gap A module devised by retired teachers that addresses attitudes young and old have for each other, including those that may be based on ignorance or prejudice.
